300,000th photo uploaded!

We crossed a special milestone last week (just got around to blogging about it now) and I just had to share!  We’ve had over 300,000 wedding photos uploaded to The Wedding Lens!!!

The concept for The Wedding Lens came from our own founder’s wedding in 2007.  When he couldn’t find an easy way to gather all his friends’ photos from his wedding, he and his business partner decided to make it themselves.  With a successful launch in the summer of 2008, The Wedding Lens has slowly grown to become THE leading wedding photo sharing site!

In addition to 300,000 photos being uploaded, our customers average more than 585 photos per wedding (for Premium & Ultimate albums), and users have also downloaded close to 100,000 photos!   That’s a lot of wedding memories!

While we are excited to have so many people happily using The Wedding Lens, we’re not resting here!  If you visit our site, you’ll see we are upgrading everything from navigation to the user experience, and we’re working hard on some enhancements that should make collecting these cherished memories even easier.  We want to make sure that we make a tool that is easy-to-use so that your family and friends (including some the less tech-savvy) don’t need to learn anything new.  We want to make sure that you also don’t need to spend a lot of time setting up the site and asking for photos – weddings are enough work without having to think about that (I definitely realize that now!) And we want to help you gather the most memories possible with features like batch uploading/downloading, automatic email reminders, and more!
