Tiffany & Brandon’s Engagement Story
We thought you might enjoy Tiffany & Brandon’s engagement story! Tiffany tells the story:
“I live in Phoenix – both Brandon and I are Arizona natives. I’ve known Brandon since I was 15 (I’m almost 23 now), and first met him when he was in local bands. I always thought he was such a smart and intelligent guy, but that he was a big jerk and had a huge ego (he was lead singer, guitar player, etc.)… and it turns out that he was intimated by me, so we didn’t talk until years later!
Brandon was supposed to move to Seattle for medical school, so we planned a trip during his birthday weekend to go look at housing with his parents. About 2 weeks before that trip, he found out that he would not be relocating to Seattle, but instead staying in Arizona. We decided not to cancel trip and went to enjoy the weekend…
His parents met us in Seattle on a Thursday and we spent Friday at Pike Place. Midway through the day, Brandon eagerly wanted to go to the Seattle Art Museum. I agreed. We split from his parents, who stayed in Pike Place while we went to museum. For 4 hours, Brandon looked at EVERYTHING in the museum. Finally, it was dinner time, and snowing, and I was grumpy, bored and annoyed that he looked at every piece of art (most he had seen before).
He told me we were walking to the place for dinner – but wouldn’t tell me where or when. This was strange to me as he knows exactly where places are (I call him mapquest). Continuing to get annoyed, we walked… and walked… and walked… until I found myself in front of the space needle in the scuplture garden. He insisted on taking a picture (using the timer) in front of the museum, even though we were there a few months ago, and he pushed the button and ran over to me and proposed…
I didn’t say “yes,” … I asked him “are you serious?”

And then we continued walking to the restaurant which was on the pier (in fact, the same restaurant we ate at when we first started dating). We walked into the restaurant near and it seemed like the crowd split. I saw my parents standing there… with his parents. He flew them out to be with us. We had dinner… but needless to say, I was not hungry anymore!
Little did I know he had been planning this for a few months prior to the trip. He carried the ring in his backpack with him everywhere he went–to school, to my house, etc. He had been coordinating with my cousin, whose parents own a jewelry company to get the rings and pick everything out. I had NO CLUE.
We had only been dating for about 9 months at the time, and in my family, it’s unheard of to get engaged before dating for about 8 years! So this was something I was definitely not expecting at all…”
